Holistic view, knowledge and approach
It has been my experience, both in my work with people and in my personal life, that health and well-being, or the lack thereof manifest itself in different ways and never have a single cause. Health is a meeting of the body and the psyche. A complaint therefore always has both a physical and a psychological component. In particular, our digestive, nervous, immune, and endocrine systems are closely related to our psychological well-being. It is, therefore, useful to address both when you are dealing with problems such as burnout, autoimmune disease, depression, anxiety, mood swings, or digestive problems.

This approach is ideal if you enjoy taking an active role in achieving your health and wellness goals, are willing to make lifestyle changes to achieve this, and have the motivation to embark on a journey that may take longer.

In my practice, we, therefore, look at your entire system together. For this, I use my knowledge as a psychologist, orthomolecular therapist, body-oriented trauma therapist, and yoga teacher to arrive at a personal approach that consists of methods that all reinforce each other and focus on both the cause and the expression of the imbalance.
Body Oriented (Trauma) Therapy
Our experiences leave traces in the body. Therefore, engaging the body and how we experience life through our nervous system and muscles is important when we want to integrate these experiences. This integration ensures that the experience is no longer just a burden, but also a stepping stone in your personal evolution and growth. In the therapy sessions I work with different methods, including TRE®, body-oriented trauma therapy, meditation, breathing, and conversations.

This approach is ideal if you want to embody the cognitive understanding you may already have and feel (more) physically and emotionally free.
Orthomolecular Therapy
Nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle have a huge impact on both our physical and mental well-being. Especially in the long term, an imbalance can cause persistent complaints and syndromes such as burnout, metabolic syndrome, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, or digestive problems. Fortunately, adjustments at this level often have a quick effect and are a powerful way to give the body's self-healing ability a chance to do its job. This can possibly be combined with treatment from a regular doctor.

This approach is ideal if you enjoy taking an active role in achieving your health and wellness goals, and are willing to make lifestyle changes to do so.
Working together for your optimal health
Health is not something you have or don't have. It is the result of various fluctuating factors. You don't always have full control over that. Sometimes a condition cannot simply be cured, or genes play an important role. At the same time, fortunately there are also a lot of factors that you can influence and your health is largely the result of the choices you make every day. This is good news! It gives you choices and possibilities.
In the sessions I guide you in your process, but I also give you the knowledge and tools that make it possible for you to get started at home. Whether it's adjustments in your diet, the release of tension through your body, or the softening of trauma, the greatest healing and growth happens by putting what you learn into practice every day. I guide you in this.
In person or online
Sessions can take place in person in the practice in Amsterdam or online. You can also choose to do some of the sessions in person and some online. In that case, I recommend doing the intake session in person and the follow-up sessions online.
The online sessions are via video calling via the Better Health app. This is a safe environment that complies with the privacy conditions. The online sessions are not recorded.
If you are scheduling an online session for therapy, especially TRE®, make sure you position your laptop so that you are fully visible, whether standing or sitting.
Personal data and privacy
During the intake and the sessions you share a lot of your personal experiences and information with me. To ensure that this information is stored securely and can only be viewed by me, but also by you, I work with the Better Health platform. At the start of your trajectory with me you will receive your own account. With the Better Health app you always have access to your account. Here you will find all forms, health information such as lab values that you share with me, protocols that I prepare for you, exercises that I share with you, and notes from the sessions. You can also send me messages and find your upcoming appointments via the app. In short, everything conveniently in one clear and safe place!
Payment
Sessions are invoiced afterwards, within 14 days after the session, and can be paid by bank payment.
Insurance coverage
As a registered Orthomolecular Therapist and Body-Oriented Psychotherapist, the sessions I offer are reimbursed from supplementary insurance for alternative care. Depending on your health insurer, you can be reimbursed up to €40 per session up to a maximum amount per year. For more information about your personal situation, it is best to contact your insurer or this overview consult with insurers and the associated compensation.
Reschedule or cancel appointments
If you want to reschedule or cancel an appointment, you can do so free of charge up to 48 hours in advance by sending a message via the Better Health app. Sessions canceled or rescheduled less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours in advance will be charged at 50%. Sessions canceled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged 100%.
